Map Zijingguan maps

I always thought the description of this place was a bit confusing, but this map make it much more easy to understand the layout of this important pass.

The Great Wall of China

Another map of Zijingguan - probably a bit more accurate:

The Great Wall of China

This is part of a series of maps by the Royal Prussian Land Survey from 1907 (Kartogr. Austeilung der Kgl. Preuss. Landesaufnahme 1907). Scale 1:200,000.

Thanks to Mark Henderson for sharing these maps.

I guess the first one is the believed original design and the second one is the current (in 1907) remains.

Probably but it still seems a bit too fanciful in my opinion. Would be nice with some good quality GE images at this location.

Zijinguan is real interesting fortress , i had studied it for long time , the map i made was same as the first map Kim posted .
As i knew, the big fortress had been divided many partitions , and each partition had its own wall to defend. the fortresses in Jiumenkou and Taolinkou are two of examples.
