I live in Anshan city and the coordinates given here are only about 20km form my house. I would like to plan a trip to this point to see what is visible. Especially since at this time of year there will be no crops or trees obscuring the site.

Can anyone here provide some details as to what to look for or where to look. Are there any features visible on google maps that I should head for first?

I'm not sure why this location is added. I think the wall should be about 40 km further west but I doubt there will be much left to see in this area. My guess is that it more or less followed the Liao He river north around Shenyang and then went south. The Liao He would probably have much more water back then so it could be part of a natural defence line.

If you are able to find any local information about the wall and its location in this area that would be really great.

A little more research was done over the weekend. There is an anomaly with the information given in the top post. The name of the location is Xiguo in Anshan but the coordinates are for Xiguo in neighbouring Liaoyang. I already had knowledge of some Ming dynasty fortifications in Anshan. See this post for details: Ming Dynasty fortification contemporary with the Great Wall.

I paid another visit to the Anshan Yibao (Anshan Relay Fort) this morning. In the afternoon I explored the area thoroughly on google earth. I noticed about 1km from Anshan Yibao is a tag marked Xi Guo Li. Could it be that the original post was marking the location of Anshan Yibao but mistakenly got the wrong Xiguo, picking the Liaoyang rather than Anshan location. I believe the correct location should be at 41° 3'12.02"N 122°56'6.95"E.

Rincewind42: Thank you very much for the information. I have made the correction you recommended.
