I made a second visit to Zhuangdaokou part and walked all the way to Xishuiyu. I very pleasant walk that only took just over 5 hours (with rest periods, the temperature was 37 degrees). Again, not really sure when Zhuangdaokou ends and Xishuiyu begins so I shall take a guess and post pictures only up until the tower where it branches off to head towards Erdaoguan for the Zhuangdaokou part, and from that point onwards for the Xishuiyu part. We never went into the holiday village to see the small part that was inside there but maybe the next time we shall do that and also check out the small Xiaoxihu part too (and then enjoy a cooling swim in the lake, hahaha. Enjoy...

Do you have GPS tracks of the path from Zhuangdaokou to Xishuiyu? How dangerous was it?

Unfortunately I dont have any GPS info as that kind of technology is stuill quite lost on me. There is a part of the wall that descends on down to the resovoir area that is highly deteriorated and is crumbling. A very experienced climber may be able to make it but it looks very difficult and the drop is rather scary... so we instead took a path down from the final tower and walked along the wall untill we rejoined a lower part that leads right above the dam... but that part is rather short and you can only walk to a certain point. It was at that point that we turned back and took a path to the lower road near the ticket gate for the holiday village.
