Default First Pass under Heaven

The Great Wall of China

DVD
$20 incl. shipping to Europe (bought directly on Nathan's website)

Unlike to the video just presented this one is a bright spot.
As a photographic supplement of Nathan Hoturoa Gray's book (same title) we get a lot of good scenes from the Great Wall and an interesting story told. Four people started the long walk, two continued and one finally reached the Yellow Sea.
Thoug there is not much information given about the Great Wall we see a lot of good photographs and the story is both plausible and eye-catching.
In the last scene you can see Nathan's physical exhaustion when sitting on top of Jiao shan.

I looked the video several times and stil enjoy doing so. I recommend it to anyone who wants to get a closer insight to the Great Wall and the landscapes it runs through and of course to anyone who considers to walk some part of the (non-Badaling) Great Wall.

I posted this video here and now looking at it I see that the site (www.greatwalldvd.com) is down.

I wonder if the DVD is still available. Nathan is a member of this forum, but doesn't visit often. Maybe I will email him and ask him what's up with the DVD. Did you get yours from that site? How long ago did you get it?

The video is excellent, I agree. Very interesting material. But a distinct lack of Polly coverage. I haven't watched it in a long time. Maybe it's time to take a look at it again.

Actually, two of the team of four finally reached Shanhaiguan. Nathan and also Diego Azubel finished the trek, although they did so separately.

I bought it about a week ago. And I ordered it on his website.

I'm only too happy to get you a copy and bring it over in May if you like.

Just watched this DVD after importing it from the US. Slightly disappointed after the wait for delivery. Some good footage, albeit brief and a little outdated or old. Too short in length to really tell you anything although it did state quite strongly that you cannot see the Wall from space and that there is not one Wall but many built in different era's for different reasons.

That would be nice. As long as I can find a way not to carry it for 30 days.
