Hike! Half thru-hike in 2007

This morning I discovered this great forum. Many thanks.

In April 2007 I started walking at Dunhuang (Han Dynasty Great Wall) and walked up to the Yellow River at the Shaanxi/Shanxi border within two months. I will continue as soon as possible, due to a new occupational position it seems improbable. But even if it will take some trips I will finish my walk at the Yellow Sea. Currently I plan some weeks in octobre 2008 to start walking in Shanxi.

I will be pleased to answer any questions concerning my walk or to discuss any topic about the Great Wall.

Your thru hike sounds very interesting! You are off to a great start. I admire your progress so far and your determination to finish. I hope that you are able to complete it soon. You have a lot to look forward to.

I'm sure our members would be interested to know more. Did you walk alone so far? Do you have some photos you can share with us? What exact route did you take? Did you use a GPS and can you share that data?

I used GPS and can share the track with you. I need some time to get it into a presentable condition but since I found this forum ...

It is an stil unclear plan. I have 30 days of vaccation left in this year which I could invest. Summer walking in Shanxi is imho impossible and not desireable. So somewhat in octobre seems to be very fine. I did not plan my route yet but I certainly would not walk without doing so and investing the experiences I made in the three western provinces. I have good maps, there is GE and I am sure it will not be difficult to find most of the wall. I am pretty sure I will walk the wall ...
