There where two water passes around Shanhaiguan - one north and one south of the Shanhaiguan fortress. The one to the south no longer exist but Beishuiguan (北水关) can still be seen although in a restored version that might not be completely true to the original.
Perhaps Andarchen knows of some old photos showing the original pass here?
The pass is located just south of the G1 Express Way (40° 1'14.89"N 119°44'41.57"E).
The water gate.
A small piece of original wall.
Some original wall close to the restored section.
There was probably a kind of moat here during the Ming days.
