Some restoration work was performed on the Qinglongxia Great Wall in 2009 - 2010. This before and after photo of one area shows the type of work that was done. In the future, I will post more details about the repair work I encountered in the Beijing area Great Wall.

Photos from a climb up the eastern side of the Qinglongxia Great Wall. This is the easternmost Great Wall in Huairou District.

Even though some repair work was done to the walking surface in some places, this area is not officially open.

The first two photos represent two changes out of several to be made to the forum maps for the Qinglongxia area.

Nice pictures. Have you ever seen any inscriptions or carvings on those stone doorframes in Beijing?

Yes, many. One of the most celebrated is this one at Simatai east tower 12. But there are many more.
