Panjiakou village under water , the old photo was taken in 1977 before dam built.photo was captured at 40.422466°118.270865° around i thought and view to noth . The gate and wall of fortress were visible too.

Very interesting to see what the area looked like before the reservoir.

I would like to see the same thing for Simatai, Huanghuacheng, and Xishuiyu!

From a diver's blog, the only picture of panjiakou GW under water by google picture search.

Panjiakou gate ought to be 40.431593°n 118.269529°e after studying following three pictures,all pictures were took when it is dry season. Your
comments is highly appreciated.

Standing at 40.431731°N 118.269859°E view from gate outside looking into inside，the tower beside gate will be seen on next picture.


Standing at 40.432554°N 118.267961°E view to southeast,the lower tower between two hills is the tower beside gate.


Standing at 40.431769°n 118.269359°e view to south, the tower beside gate is just in foreground, and gate locates behind this tower .


Here is the map postion of gate , the gate emerges only on dry season.
