Here is a example as inside of Damaoshanbao , you had been there too . Fortress of Damaoshanbao was divided into many sections by brick walls , an I saw the photos you capture in Heliukou ,there are also a lot of sections inside fortress , farmer maybe used those early brick walls as their field division .

Yes, I've been to Damaoshanbao, so I know that the walls in Heliukou does not resemble the walls at Damaoshanbao. The wall of Damaoshanbao clearly resembles walls of houses - the walls of Heliukou does not!

Not everybody use Google Earth - at least not the Chinese GW experts - so here's the Eastern Hebei Great Wall as Google Map:



More interesting is the map a with the terrain feature. Notice how the wall follows the mountain ridges:

Very interesting! You can't do that in Google Earth (I think). Can you???
