Thanks for great wall forum to share the map.

One question,
If I want to export this data ( Placemark ) on Google Earth. How to get it?
I know it's manually add on, It can be maually read and take out.
However, google earth should be smart software, somewhere can export or read the data all together.

Another question to great wall map,
The red line is Ming dynasty wall, what is building year for the yellow line ? Han dynasty?

From Google Earth, save the data you are interested in as a KML file. A KML file is plain XML format which can be loaded into many programs. If you need to, you can use third-party tools like GPSBabel to convert the KML file to a GPX file, for instance.

The red lines are Great Wall of any dynasty, not necessarily Ming. The yellow lines are walking trails.

Thanks for the tips. However, I am not successful to convert the GPS data yet.

Is that possible to have the latest GPS list in plain txt format or Microsoft excel xls format?

Eg. Hushan 40°13'18.00"N 124°30'55.00"E

Default File Conversion

Hi Freddy.

Try the GPSBabel software to convert the *.kml files either to plain *.txt or comma delimited format. All you then have to do is import into excel and use the text to columns command to separate the individual elements of the data.
But, I would suggest that you split the file into "manageable parts" first, as it is a big file.

Cheers

Michael

Also, if you try renaming the .kml file to .xml, it might open in Excel.
