Two new paths for Huairou. One I am certain of because I have seen and photographed it (Lianhuachi, red) and one I am uncertain of but it sure looks like a wall to me (Shentangyu, orange). I will be able to confirm it soon.

The map file is still locked by me. I have to add several thousand of new items, I am clearing up a lot. I assume it will take about one or two more days.

Are you actually adding all those towers for the new high resolution areas in Beijing and Hebei?

No. The "several thousand items" are without the new HR images. ;-).
I will do the Hebei/Beijing tower issue afterwards ...

I need a rest ...
What I did:

- added tons of new findings
- added tons of already known items
- cleared up a lot (replaced ? by color coding)
- added new locations
- reviewed some of the old findings and removed obvious wrong ones
- found GW items in Qinghai(!)

I must ask you not to mind a lot of "questionable" findings in Ningxia and Gansu. I need them for further work. The map in the far west is much more a work in progress than in the east. You will have to accept that in order to get new knowledge and understanding of the GWs there.

Some new insights:

- the central line of the Ningixa overlay path is by far wrong to the east.
- The central line in Ningxia _must_ have been at the eastern side of the Helan Shan. Any western line is speculative and lacks of _any_ evidence.
- Qinghai has GW!
- we see very often more than one GW at a given place. There are often towers of two different eras. Or even more.
- The Lanzhou loop is a weak barrier, the outback served as the barrier to the north and the west
- even more ;-)

PS: I will start the Hebei/Beijing tower work as soon as the file is handed back to me.

Map 20080723

Can't wait to check it out now! Thanks for the details too. It helps to know what to look at! Were your changes confined to Shanxi, Shaanxi, Ningxia, Gansu and Qinghai?

Maybe we should state that with the announcement of the next map release.

I would like to edit the map with a few new findings (attached) at the same time as I review the new additions. By tomorrow I should be able to upload a new file and then you can work on the towers when you are ready.
