Thanks for the quick reply.

I did not touch anything east of the Shanxi border. That is your realm.
It was the work of about a weak, based on the work of some weeks. Maybe you can now understand that I simply just can not manage two GE repositories at a time.

Maybe we should state that with the announcement of the next map release.
This should only affect our, not the public map. The main path is well known. It is the (relevant) details, that lead to the deeper understanding of the GW. Nothing for newbies ;-).

I would like to edit the map with a few new findings (attached) at the same time as I review the new additions. By tomorrow I should be able to upload a new file and then you can work on the towers when you are ready.
I held the file for such a long time, feel free to do everything you want to edit. There is no need for hurry. Only if I detect new aspects of the GW ...

Default 20080724.kmz

Changes in 20080724.kmz:
  • Added new paths and locations from "20080723 changes.kmz"
  • Adjusted some Simatai locations (Sky Bridge, Heavenly Ladder, Xiannulou, Wangjinglou)
  • Adjusted Dashuiyu location
  • Alphabetized locations except tiles
  • Added folder Ming Dynasty Great Wall/Towers/Ningxia/Shizuishan
  • Moved 12 towers from Ming Dynasty Great Wall/Paths/Ningxia/Shizuishan to Ming Dynasty Great Wall/Towers/Ningxia/Shizuishan
  • Added folder Ming Dynasty Great Wall/Fortresses/Ningxia/West Ningxia
  • Moved 1 Fortress? from Ming Dynasty Great Wall/Towers/Ningxia/West Ningxia to Ming Dynasty Great Wall/Fortresses/Ningxia/West Ningxia. I think this looks like a fortress and the ? is not needed.
  • Added folder Ming Dynasty Great Wall/Fortresses/Ningxia/East Ningxia
  • Moved 1 Fortress? from Ming Dynasty Great Wall/Towers/Ningxia/East Ningxia to Ming Dynasty Great Wall/Fortresses/Ningxia/East Ningxia. I think this also looks like a fortress and the ? is not needed.
  • Added Accept and Reject folders to Review/Bryan. Copied a few items into there. I think the meaning should be obvious.
Should Zhengbeitai be moved from Towers/Shaanxi/Yulin to Fortresses? Or should it be changed from green to red? (That's my preference.) It seems to be the only green tower. Also, should it be renamed Zhenbeitai?

The data in the west is vast. To review it will be a long and ongoing project. I guess whenever I have the chance I will pick a section or tile to review. But I did glance at random items in many locations and everything I saw appeared to be legitimate. The amount of information in each high-res tile is amazing. I congratulate chinoook for his diligence and commitment in finding and documenting all of these items. When GE gets a widespread high-res area in the west like it has in the east.....

Also I have been thinking, because the Locations folder has gotten so big, maybe it needs to be divided into provinces. I volunteer to do that if you guys agree it's a good idea.

I added a comment to one item. I removed the ? from the other (on the original location)

Successfully renamed and moved to "Other/Shanxi/Yulin", where is the correct location.

At the moment I can not reccomend to review data of western GW. I am still working on it. Today I found about roughly 450 new items in Qinghai. They are contained in the attached file.

I agree. And I would be glad if you did the job. I am busy somewhere in Qinghai at the moment ...
Maybe you have some fun toggling on and of the new Qinghai findings. Be aware most of them show the "questionable" color but more than 95% are sure findings. I will change the color when I review the file (I will do it this week).

Maybe great news:
The GW findings in the tile I named "South Ningxia II" seem to be Qin GW. The Qin GW is supposed to cross South Ningxia in the counties Ziji (don't know where that is) and Guyuan, to wich "South Ningxia II" belongs.
I will put this tile in the QDGW section of our map the next time I will get access to the master file and add a location "Guyuan".

Default 20080725.kmz

In this revision, I just divided the Locations folder into several sub-folders.

My changes:
  • added a minor set of items to Qinghai/Xining (about 250 ...)
  • added Locations Guyuan, , Birthplace of the 14. Dalai Lama (the first thing he might have seen is the Great Wall ...)
  • minor clearing up somewhere (forgotten where ...)
  • added the Yellow River from the Yellow Sea to the Qinghai borderas a path. I consider it helpful for some work. I left it toggled on in this review for your notice, feel free to toggle it off with the next review

Thanks a thousand times. I take it under my custody, but you found it. I put it into the map. I will mention it in the commentary that it is your finding. Such a great leap in knowledge!
I'm not finding this item in the latest map.

Sorry, I forgot that. But I would have remembered it. I will put it into the upcoming map, which I will release in about an hour.
Could you please tell me where to find it? (post #, thread)

A crash of GE destroyed all the work of today. I will have to redo tomorrow. Until I did the file should be kept closed.

Could you please tell me where to find your Northern Qi findings at Simatai? (post #, thread)?
