I did say no more GE this week, but I noticed that my China Road Map from Hallwag showed some GW. This is what I found:

Any comments?

Two remarks:

1) In the very east there seems to be a fortress. A wall without towers always makes me a bit sceptical but here in the northwest ... If it proves to be the real thing: wow! Incredible. But please tell me: This wall protected whom from whom?

2) I need your GE work. There are some files which need your critical review ...

PS: I also need the master file for writing.

I think it is a wall. For some reason it looks more like a wall to the east and less so to the west. That's a pretty amazing find. I never knew about any walls so far north and I wonder who built them and why.

How long is this wall shown to be on your map? Was the position on the map accurate compared with the image you found on GE?

I couldn't get your link to work but I think I found the same map at http://www.hallwag.com/shop/produkt-detail/162.

Sounds good. Today I had about 200+ new findings, about 80% should be doubtless. If I continue with this speed we have at the end of the year more findings of fortresses and towers than all dynasties have built ...

I would guess that the wall was build by one of the northern dynasties (Liao or Jin) and presumably they also feared invasion from the north.

In total the wall in this area seems to be about 700 km long with a few stretches without wall. The wall is more or less spot-on compared with the map. More than half the wall is inside Mongolia.

The map describe it as "Cingis Chaan Cherem" - guess that's have something to do with Genghis Khan - maybe even build by him?

It seems to continue here according to the map:

Me too. You have found a huge number of features and it takes time to give them the review they deserve.

I believe that line. But how did they guard it? No watchtowers. Did they live in tents? I am sure there is knowledge about such things somewhere outside. How can we get into contact to that?
