Again not exactly the best weather for taking pictures, but fog seems to be difficult to avoid in this part of China. As last weekend very high humidity and very hot.
This section was too wild for my wifes liking so we continued to Malanguan, after taking a few pictures. The wall seen from here: 40°13'52.18"N 117°43'44.56"E. Notice the bad condition of the wall in the foreground. ![]() The wall on the eastern side of the lake: 40°13'50.96"N 117°44'2.68"E ![]() Eastern side of the lake. ![]() I did not see any sign of brick wall here, all seem to be original early Ming stone wall, so I guess the construction company have seen a bit too many Badaling photos ![]() ![]() The wall on the western side: 40°14'2.59"N 117°43'17.14"E

Too bad how that one tower was rebuilt. I guess the old one was very badly damaged or completely destroyed.
It seems that the first 60 meters or so of the wall was also rebuilt, when you look at it from the sides or in Google Earth. But there are weeds growing on the top. I guess it was rebuilt a long time ago and nobody takes care of it. Thanks for these photos. Very interesting.
