According to the book Hebei - The Great Wall Legacy the western camp is the best preserved of the two. To me is seems that the eastern camp is much better preserved with more wall.

The Great Wall of China

Great wall pass at Malanguan: 40°13'15.14"N 117°40'23.29"E. This part seems to have been used as an aqueduct at some point.

Notice that the towers in this area have almost disappeared and only the inner rammed earth part can be seen today. Hebei - The Great Wall Legacy show some brick towers there, but I did not see any. I did see some traces of bricks though.

With your on-site survey report,i updated the location of west camp in my map .thanks a lot.
Due to lack of coordinates of east/west wall ,so the eastern camp is still uncertain yet . Attached kmz is where western camp locates ,and its size is
150m*100m i got information from internet before .

Thanks again .
According the book wrote , the circumference of eastern camp's wall is 232 Zhang(丈) .and Zhang is length unit Ming used . one Zhang equals 3.3 meters around . So the circumference is 765 meters today , and it meets what i guessed .

I don't think that is correct.

The corner is here: 40°13'10.30"N 117°40'31.35"E. From here the wall goes northwest and align with the wall here: 40°13'14.19"N 117°40'28.87"E. Both GPS coordinates by myself yesterday.

Returning from the wall I went down here: 40°13'13.90"N 117°40'36.79"E and saw part of the wall behind the house to the south, so that would be around here: 40°13'13.23"N 117°40'37.12"E

What you marked here: 40°13'12.44"N 117°40'30.91"E is a road and not a wall.

This is my interpretation of the findings:

According the the book I have, the two camps very 100 meter apart. However there are two well preserved corners approximately 250 meter apart, and if they were in fact 100 meter apart that would put the eastern wall almost in the middle of the river.

Very interesting ! i prefered to believe what your book said , if book is corrected then my guess was corrected too!

Here is the reason why :
First ,with your on-site survey ,and view from GE image ,the coordinates of two well preserved corners are for sure , they locates at 40°13'8.27"N 117°40'21.13"E and 40°13'10.30"N 117°40'31.35"E respectively ,according my guess before , both of them are suppose to be southeast corner for two camps . After measurement with GE ,the distance between two corners is 250meters,it just same as your book said !

Second , i guessed the west wall of eastern camp locates at 40.219555°N 117.673655°E , the distance between east wall of western camp and west wall of eastern camp is about 100 meters , it is also same as your book said !
