Default Something need to be verified

Hello ,Kim
According to GW on-site survey book, there were two GWs in Lengkou and Heliukou , but no detail information about Lengkou's GWs in book ,Since two GWs in Heliukou were built as a big loop , Lengkou is its next pass , so two GWs in Lengkou supposed to be a loop too .

Following picture show all walls in Lengkou , inner and outside GWs as red lines and Lengkouguan's wall as white line were you already found , extended inner GW as pink line and two other small fortresses as white lines were what i found , please refer to attached kmz file .
The right small fortress was mentioned by on-site survey book already , pink line and left small fortress need to be verified only .

Next time you visit Lengkou ,please do on-site survey as possible as you can .Thank in advance .

I think most of you questions have already been answered some time ago. There is definitely a loop at Lengkou. I've see both of the fortresses in your file so no question about them.

The wall stop here: 40°11'2.16"N 118°49'27.37"E and does not appear to continue like you describe. Remember that a lot of the mountain here has been blasted away to build the road, so not all of the wall is visible today.

There is indeed a wall in the area of your pink path, but I believe most of your path is a road. According to my observation the wall is very close to the road, so some of it may be lost when the road was constructed. I guess the left fortress as outside the wall.

Don't worry - I plan to go back to Lengkou to investigate the western part of the pass

The wall is clearly visible on the left side, but it's a bit difficult to see from the photo due to the bad weather.

According your attached kmz file , GW loop at Lengkou you made seems to be smaller than i expected, and the left small fortress locates out of loop too .
no doubt , your coming on-site survey will be invaluable .Thank for your favor in advance .

GE image on Lengkou has significant improvement recently, you don't need to go there for investigating any more .
The inner GW of Lengkou is just same your map .

Investigation is only part of it. You learn so much more by going there than just by looking at the picture

Very interesting to see the fortress at Liujiakou from the air: 40° 8'28.25"N 118°56'15.08"E

Other places have also been updated:

Panjiakou - solved some mysteries for me with the wall north of Panjiakou showed on some maps

Hongshankou - very bad update, seems to be on a very foggy day so part of the wall is lost here

Malanyu

Huangyaguan

Thanks. Liujiakou is one of my favourite places so it's nice to finally see it with high resolution. It's much easier to understand the observations made at the sight when a high resolution image is available on GE

I have some more Liujiakou pictures here: http://greatwall.se/album/index.php?...gdao/liujiakou
