The location can very well be Lanshuiguan althoug it is not well know. The location have a short extra wall for protection so it is surely important and might very well have its own name.

You are right ! and i had found 滥水关(làn shuǐ guān )or called 滥石关(làn shí guān ) instead 蓝水关 (Lán shuǐ guān) .Lanshiguan was called in GW bible title " on-site investigation report for Ming dynasty" .
The original author of GW bible is Secretary-General Dong Yaohui of The China Great Wall Society, He(middle one) and two others took 508 days and completed walking entire GW in 1985 as the first picture below . The GW bible was published afterward.
Emma Nicholas and Brendan Fletcher and their parents were being greeted by Mr. Dong while they finished GW walking in 2007 as the second picture .
English name for Lanshiguan seem to be stony pass ,for Lanshuiguan sound like rapid pass .
