It looks like a very cool place so I want to visit it this year. Does any one know about the quality of accommodation in this area?
I plan to walk to Simatai and then take a taxi or bus back to my car.

You can walk from Jinshanling to Simatai in about four hours. I would also plan to spend a couple of hours at each end too if possible.
Both Jinshanling and Simatai have hotels and restaurants.
The
Jinshan Binguan has various room qualities and prices, but the best rooms are inexpensive.
This is the unit where I stayed on my second visit there:
Simatai has two hotels and a hostel. Both times I stayed at Simatai, I stayed at the hotel closest to the Wall. Again, it's inexpensive.
Here I am in the courtyard of the Simatai hotel:
The Jinshanling parking lot is on the north side of the Wall; the Simatai parking lot is on the south side. To drive from one to the other, one must go through Gubeikou. It takes about 30 minutes.
You will undoubtedly find this a very interesting area to visit.
