Thanks for the great photos! It seems you got all the way to the top of Jiaoshan - how difficult was it to get up there and how difficult would it be to continue further east?

So the second photo is taken from the top of Jiaoshan looking towards the west? What do you think it would be like to try to walk there from the top of Jiaoshan?

That is, how difficult would it be to continue further west?

I think we are all very interested to know what it would be like to hike up Jiaoshan and continue following the Great Wall from there.

From Jiaoshan the wall continues east (or north-east), not west, towards Sandaoguan.

Oops, I forgot it basically makes a 90-degree turn at the top. You're right.

You can climb the Jiaoshan part along the Great Wall until you meet the Tower. This is shown in the first photo. Then once you climb vertically the Tower, you have to deviate to some paths away from the Great Wall. Unless you have some ropes or special climbing equipment, it is not possible to continue on the great wall. These paths are OK to begin with but then you will pass a temple on your left. The third photo is on top of the Tower.
The temple is shown on the fourth photo. After the temple, the climb becomes steep and there are no footpaths as I remember.
For me, it was really difficult. Yes the photo is taken on top of Jiaoshan.
To continue east, it seems hopeless !!! You have to descend down a valley and then climb up again ! I abandoned the plan to continue due to the steepness and man, it was really steep !!!!

This is on top of Jiaoshan. The photo shows the other side of the mountain. Don't let those bushes and tweeks deceieve you. That is the edge of where I was. From there, it is downwards all the way.

The descent. The third photo shows the other mountain where the continuation of the great wall is.
