Xizhazi 2/Xizhazi 5 - what's the difference?
I think, very easy
Xizhazi 1,2,3,4,5 all belonged to Xizhazi village, but there are in different geographical areas, so we called branch 1,2,3....

in Chinese we call Xizhazi 1 dui, Xizhazi 2 dui...

Thanks for the information.

I've managed to find accommodation nearby, so that's OK. When you say detour inside the wall, do you mean on the northern side (the side with the villages)?

Also, Sky Stairs and Heavenly ladder - are they the same thing? ALso, I've heard of cloud stairs, but couldn't find information on where they are. I would like to know how many 'dangerous' sections there are so I can judeg just waht I am likely to be facing.

Thanks,

Dave

1) No, inside the wall means in the country. 500 years ago, (mainly)southern side is our country, while Xizhazi is at north. It's hard to define one direction coz the wall is sinuous.

2) The ladder is not the same thing of Sky Stairs. Sky Stairs there is more popular, and it's not dangerous. the dangerous part from Zhengbeilou to 9 eyes tower:
1: the ladder made by iron just I mentioned before
2: a bluff(also the great wall) about 1 hour's way from Zhengbeilou, to the east of the lowest place of that area
3: Yingfeidaoyang(3 bluffs if dont detour)
4: Cabianguo(on the north of Beijing Knot, when you climb down)
5: a 20 meters' bluff at the end of Xidaqiang

no matters if you cant tell where
