Getting to Huangyaguan by public transport

Is there any way to do this conveniently from Beijing or Tianjin?

I live in Beijing and am planning a visit to Tianjin

I'm pretty sure there's a bus from Tianjin to Huangyaguan. If I remember correctly you can take a bus from Tianjin to Jixian and then transfer to a smaller bus that will take you to Huangyaguan.

"Huangyaguan is relatively well served by public transport. Bus 918 from Dongzhimen long-distance bus station in Beijing takes three hours to get to Huangyaguan. There are also minibuses from Xinglong if you are approaching from the Huairou area. Regular buses leave from Tianjin and minibuses also serve Huangyaguan from Jixian town. Taxis at Huangyaguan can take you up to Taipingzhai."

Please be aware that there might be no such thing as a long-distance bus station at Dongzhimen. Look here.
