Default Qingshanguan

One of the first watch towers on the north ridge.

Different sized watch towers.

Small and big watch tower.

A view south from the north ridge - no wonder why they call it green mountain.

Default Taolinkou

From yesterdays failed attempt to find a possible road to the Taolinkou area.

First attempt failed because a marked totally blocked the road, and the second attempt failed because I didn't want to destroy my car on the rocky road - luckily I ended up here instead: 40° 8'44.36"N 119°11'55.13"E (note how the wall split in two here).

The two parts seem to be from different time periods. Do you agree?

My guess is that they build the northern part first (probably early Ming) and then later added the southern part. I didn't see any sign of brick work on the northern part while the southern part is a strange mix of bricks and stones.

Wow! From the GE photos I would have guessed the southern part is older.
Is it made of material that more easily decays?
