Default Gps
I ended up with exactly 1000 photos during the day (need to check how many are good) so I don't have GPS for all of them

According to Google Earth the photo is take around here (40°13'24.55"N 119°32'47.96"E).

I should be possible to pass it next year but we will probably have to make some detours in this area

1000 photos in one day. That might be why 1.2 kilometers seemed so long.

In looking at Google Earth, I noticed the Wall seems to make a circle around Banchangyu so there would be two choices on which way to go. Your route looks slightly shorter.

Well my and my Nikon D80 are very good friends

I haven't been able to find much information about Banchangyu but according to a small leaflet we received yesterday the south half of the circle is early Ming dynasty and the north half is late Ming dynasty.
