Default Great Wall Forum calling cards

I have been working on calling cards to use to promote the Great Wall Forum during my upcoming trip to China.

So far I have three basic designs. Please vote on your favorite design and feel free to comment on what you like and dislike about them.

The Great Wall of China
Lesser Jinshan tower, Jinshanling

The Great Wall of China
Watching Beijing Tower, Simatai

The Great Wall of China
West #2 tower, Jinshanling

I voted for the third card. I think it's the most striking one. It's instantly recognizable as the great wall even from a distance. It has a clean and bold look to it.

There are a few things I would change on it. I would make the blue color more rich by adjusting it's saturation. I would remove the mouse arrow and put my name there instead. I would add some bullets to the Discuss Share Ask lines. I would make these lines black to match the dot com on the top line too.

I liked all of them. But after reading what Joe said I agree with him. Therefore I voted for number 3.

Hi Joe, thanks for your suggestions. Coming from a graphic designer, I value them a lot. Maybe your vote should count twice! I think your suggestions are good and I am going to try them. I will post the results here.

I am working on increasing the saturation of the sky. I tried working with the existing sky and also tried substituting another one. What do you think?

The Great Wall of China
Increased the saturation of the whole image

The Great Wall of China
Pasted in a deeper sky

The Great Wall of China
Pasted in a dramatic colorful sky

The Great Wall of China
A less dramatic colorful sky

Well I see you're pretty good at Photoshop! I like the first one the best. The colorful skys look great but once you get the text on top of them they will look too cluttered. The second one looks nice but I think the picture looks better with the tree so I would use the first one. The tree adds some nice balance. I know it wouldn't be easy to paste in a new sky under that tree. By saturating the whole thing, the tower has picked up some nice color contrast too. You can see the green spots on the left side now.

the one with the colored sky might not be good for a card but it is a beautiful picture. What a beautiful sky!

It's looking better. I would change my name to black and remove one or two of the lines from the left side so it will look more balanced. Put the text on both sides at the same height.

Personally I voted for number 1 because I think that is a much better photo.

I would also change the name to black because it's very difficult to read.

I think it would be enough to write:
  • discuss
  • share
  • ask

Participate seems redundant in my opinion.

Lean and plan is also more or less included in the first three.
