  • Jiankou or Jinshanling

    Hi everybody,
I've been looking into trekking Jiankou to Mutianyu, as most of this section is yet to be restored and has been left "untouched" since the initial construction. Problem seems to be it's quite difficult to find a driver who knows the entrance point, the Xizhazi village. I'm planning to do this on June 17 as a day hike; leave Beijing early morning and return in the afternoon. Any advice on drivers who know the area, or alternate transportation? Also, if someone is interested in doing this with me, let me know. Jiankou is supposed to have some one the most picturesque parts of the wall.

I've put Jinshanling as the backup option, if for some reason I won't make it to Jiankou. Same date, June 19.

I would take the bus from Beijing to Huairou. Most taxi drivers there will know Xizhazi.
