  • Great Wall in eastern Shanxi and west of YuXian HeBei

Hello Forum! I am new here. I was visiting YuXian, JiangJiaKou, HeBei in September and I got a taxi out to a segment of the Great Wall across the border in Shanxi. It is barely recognizable as a wall, but interesting nonetheless. Has anyone been there? I don't know if it has a name or not.

There are many walls in that area. Do you have an exact location and/or photos?

      Hi Bryan,

      Yes, the coordinates are 39.6936 x 114.2400.

I have many photos and videos, but I'm not able to upload them. Photos are about 3MB each, but when I upload it says I have a limit of 1.

But here is a link to one of them:

Well, I have been around there and explored also the wall you showed (at a different location).
To be honest, I don't yet know which dynasty has built this wall. It is probably 北魏 (Northern Wei).
Strange enough, this is a wall without towers. Unlike other Bei Wei locations I know.

chinoook's 1st law: Structurally weak walls tend to have double structures.
chinoook's 2nd law: Newer walls are built next older walls, not over them.
chinoook's 3rd law: Similar problems lead to similar solutions.

Hello Chinoook. Thanks for the insight. I'm going to post a couple of videos as well.

I only walked about 100 meters on the wall. I didn't see any towers in either direction.
