  • Gubeikou Battle 1933

    Hi:
I'm curious if it's correct to say that the battle between Chinese and Japanese forces at Gubeikou was part of the run-up to World War II. I guess technically it was in the run-up to the Second Sino-Japanese War, but I'm writing something and want people who don't know about the Second Sino-Japanese War to have a better understanding of the context in the fewest words and without getting overly detailed.

Also, is it correct to say the Japanese came down from Manchuria, which was their territory at that point.

    Many thanks for any help.

    Jeannie
