Hike Bijiashan to Badaling

I'm interested in hiking in Yanqing county, Beijing, from Bi jia shan 笔架山 40°9'49"N 115°45'3"E (Shui tou cun 水头村 40°11'6"N 115°45'52"E) north east to Shi xia guan 石峡关 40°18'35"N 115°56'33"E and then to Ba da ling 八达岭 40°21'16"N 116°0'23"E.

If anyone has any details on this part of the Great Wall, I would be happy to hear about it.

Thanks!

I have the suspicion that there is Non-Ming wall around that section. Information about that would also be very much appreciated.

That is an awesome photo.

What I can't understand is, as good as the Great Wall's condition and surroundings are here, why isn't it more popular? Why don't we hear more about it? It's close to Beijing, yet it seems very few people go here.

I would like to know if anyone has hiked this entire distance. The photos you posted are all near Bijiashan. Is it possible to hike from here all the way to Badaling, and are any particular detours necessary?

You are welcome ,i am pleased to show what i knew.
I didn't find any article in Chinese GW forum on hiking this entire distancea , so i guessed none of people has done this done before ,transportation to reach Beijiashan nearest villages Shuitoucun or Zhenbiancheng(镇边城 40.169297°N 115.813908°E) is not problem , it will take longer to Shuitoucun than Zhenbiancheng.

I don't knew why this entire distance isn't popular , but pictures in this section are not dufficult to find at panoramio on google earth , and i shall keep on posting photos until to west of Badaling for sections panoramio has not posted yet .

I will do it if I come to China this September. But that's still undecided.

If you do come, maybe we could meet and discuss the plan for next year. However I might be heading home for a few months, but that is still undecided.
