Hi Chinoook
Are your trip goes well? I got the Gansu's GW google's map and an itinerary of hiking the Gw in Gansu now, that is very helpful, but I still need you help very much. Will you tell me how long distance and how many hour to go along the GW every day? Or can I meet you in some day and you may give me some suggestion to me? Thank you!

Hi David Chen,
Yes, my trip is doing pretty well. In Gansu I only went to Lintao to find the beginning of the Qin Dynasty GW, in which we succeeded.
I am currently in Zhangjiakou, Hebei. Thus a meeting is quite improbable in the near future but I am open to anything and will return to Gansu as soon as possible.
The distance of walking is very much dependant on which kind of walker you are. Robert for instance walks up to 25km a day. My longest sections on the Gansu GW were about 55km a day. It depends where you sleep, what you carry, how much comfort you need.
How many hours? I usually walk from sunrise to sunset without major rests.
