Appendix

This is a very good book, written by experts. The chapter about the Great Wall of China (by Alexander Koch) is not the best and will not supply new information to most of us but about all other chapters will do. Interesting also the comparison of all these walls and the overview of all of them together.
Some good photographs and diagrams as well. All in all a very good pick especially for all wall enthusiasts. To my knowledge there is nothing comparable to it.
Unfortunately written in German ...

When I saw the chapter heading "Thinkers Disagree on Certain Points", and another, "Stories Related to the Wall Tend to Be More Fictional Than Factual", I knew I wanted this book.

The Great Wall of China

万里长城 百题问答
(1000 li long wall - 100 questions answered)

by 王雪农 and 威廉·林赛
(the second pronounced as: Wēilián·línsài; you may guess who he is ...)

ISBN 978-7-5085-1733-9
2009
222 pages

A good book, cheap (RMB 78), encouraging to read it in the original language (not a single English word in it), lots of good photos. But not really anything new. Just a very nice book.
